For over 70 years the Waltenberger family has resided in the beautiful town of Waldviertel, Litschau. A popular resort area with many ponds and beautiful scenery, the Waltenberger’s 16 hectares estate is close to its natural surroundings that made it an ideal location for their beehives and freshwater fisheries.
Both bee-keeping and fish breeding are of great importance for our family. It was our grandfather Eduard who stirred up our family interest in them. He handed down to us everything he knew about bees. Our unique bee farm was founded thanks to his commitment to a cause and love for bees. This commitment to bees continues to this day and paired with our location results in a truly remarkable honey.
Our bees work in our forest and its surroundings that are full of various plants. Thanks to this diversity of wild plant life, we are able to offer high quality forest and flower honey. In addition, we also produce honey made from acacia, buckwheat, and sunflower. This unique variety of honey is possible because our bees are able to travel around Lower Austria, where they can feed on the pollen and nectar of other regions.
